SCOTTISH NATIONAL CRICKET LEAGUE  HISTORY

This was formed in season 1998 following the merger of the Scottish League and the Western Union clubs (1st Division).

Three Conference Leagues were set up for the 1998 season consisting of 2 leagues of 10 clubs and 1 of 11 clubs.  At the end of the season teams were split depending on their finishing position to form 3 Divisons of the Scottish National Cricket League for 1999.

At the end of 1999 promotion and relegation operates between the Divisions and the 4 feeder leagues (Western Union, East League, Strathmore Union and Border League).

From season 2000, there are 3 Divisions of 10 clubs.

From season 2004, the 3 Divisions of 10 clubs are split - Premier, North and South

For the season 2006, the 3 Divisions became 1st division (10 clubs), 2nd & 3rd division (12 clubs each)

The club has competed as Stewarts Melville Royal High (SMRH) since 1998.
